MOTHER NATURE

Mondays are "The-Day-Off" at Fotograf Kallen, and we are trying to make the most of this day every week. We started this week with a lovely long walk on the ice ; crossing the largest lake in the Stavanger Area, which for the time being is all frozen. The weather was beautiful : The sun was shining from a clear, blue sky and we could even feel the sun slightly warming our cold cheeks ! Shadows in all forms & shapes were created. The lake looked like a large open white field with shiny spots from the ice in-between the thin layer of snow.... It was so quiet & peaceful. Not a singel touch from even a tiny breeze in the sharp air. It felt like the time stood still, like something or someone had just stopped the clock from tikking for a while.... It felt like the world kept it´s breath for some reason.... Perhaps the purpose of this was to give us the unique possibility to enjoy these hours in silence....   It was so beautiful. It was breath-taking ! And when the sun slowly set, it left a range of colours on the sky ; from sharp blue to yellow, from bright red to purple with all the nuances in-between. During this sunset, the birds, the ducks & the swans were trying to keep warm in the cold water and on the frozen lake. They kept close to each other, as if they were saying : "Let us all stay together in clusters, and in that way, be able to feel the warmth from our feather-dressed bodies".  As we were on our way back to our warm & cozy house, we couldn´t quite get the sight of the birds out of our minds.... This day has been the most amazing & unforgettable experience we´ve had for quite a long time.... Thanks to our beautiful Mother Nature !
